A Crosslinks Regional Meeting was held in St. Columba’s Parish Hall, Portadown on the evening of June 26th.
Canon Bill Adair, hosting the event, began by reading from St. John’s gospel chapter 15, and his meditation emphasised that Christ’s followers were specially chosen to be people of love,
and by so doing to make disciples of all nations.
Rev. Richard Balmer, Ireland Team Leader for Crosslinks, continued the evening’s program by presenting reports from various mission partners across the world. A video from Gerald and Louise Mwangi, who are supported by several local churches, gave encouraging news about their work with children and young people in Nairobi, Kenya.
Mission partner, J, reported on her interesting work with refugees. She provides them with food banks, English language classes and seeks to show them what the Scriptures say about Jesus Christ.
During the evening, Rev. Richard Balmer shared that Crosslinks seeks to serve parishes in the Church of Ireland and that staff are available to visit churches to speak about global mission. Attendees were also asked to pray for the two summer camps as Crosslinks seeks to engage children and young people in God’s global mission.
